Highlights of Kigali Tour
After breakfast, take a city tour of Kigali including a Genocide Memorial & Museum visit. This is a very moving experience that will give you an in-depth insight into the history of Rwanda and how the genocide started. This afternoon you will visit the craft markets and art galleries followed by a coffee experience at a local coffee farm.

After breakfast, you will be transferred the 3 hours from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge before an afternoon of relaxation.

DAY 4:

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to be briefed on the gorilla tracking experience and allocated a gorilla tracking group. You will be given a full briefing about the gorilla family you are tracking, what to expect during the trek, how to behave with the family, how long you will be there, as well as meeting the other travelers in your group. Once your briefing is complete, you will meet your porter, who will help carry your backpack and help you with your footing during the hike. Next, head to the trailhead to begin your amazing adventure!

DAY 5:

Golden Monkey Trek
Rise early and enjoy breakfast before partaking in a Golden Monkey trek where you will observe habituated troops of golden monkeys in their natural habitat.
You'll return back to the lodge for lunch before an afternoon tour of the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. It represents the culmination of a 20-year dream to build a world-class research and education center to continue Dian Fossey’s legacy and advance the work of saving gorillas from extinction.

Transfer Volcanoes National Park to Serengeti National Park
This morning, you will drive the 3 hours back to Kigali and proceed to the airport for your flight to the Serengeti. Upon arrival at the Kogatende airstrip, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your lodge. After settling in and enjoying a light lunch, head out on your first afternoon game drive, a perfect introduction to the magic of the Serengeti.

Day on Safari
While every safari lodge operates slightly differently, you will have the opportunity to join two safari activities each day. One in the early morning and another that leaves in the late afternoon. If you would prefer to sleep in one morning and join the afternoon activity (or vice versa), you are welcome to do so.
On both your morning and evening safari activities, your guide will find a scenic area to stop for a half hour where you will enjoy some light refreshments and a chance to stretch your legs. Please chat with your guide if you have any specific interests that you would like to explore while on safari. These could include interests such as birding, or ask about the possibility of scheduling a nature walk where you can get up close and personal with the fauna and flora surrounding your lodge.

DAY 8:

Day on Safari
Set out on a game drive after an early breakfast. The Serengeti is not only famous for the great Wildebeest Migration, but also for the vast number of species that reside in the park year-round. The concentration of predators in the Serengeti is high, with large prides of lion, numerous hyena clans, and regular sightings of both cheetah and leopard. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, and antelope can be found feeding on the rich plains, as well as some of the lesser-known and hard-to-spot species such as aardwolf, mongoose, caracal, servals, and hyrax.

DAY 9:
Masai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy breakfast before checking out and transferring to the Kogatende airstrip for your scheduled flight to Tarime airstrip. Upon arrival, you'll be met by a representative for a road transfer from Tanzania's Tarime airstrip to Kenya's Migori airstrip, passing through border control along the way. From Migori airstrip, you'll take a short flight to your lodge's nearby airstrip. When you arrive at the airstrip, you'll be met by a driver-guide and transferred to your lodge. This afternoon, venture out into Masai Mara National Park for an afternoon game drive.

Explore a region bestowed with over 500 square miles of savannas, woodlands, and tree-fringed rivers on morning and
afternoon game drives. You may observe crocodile basking in the sun, see ever-alert hippo wallowing in muddy water, and
catch the antics of mischievous monkeys overhead. Watch, too, as African elephants rumble along the forest edge and
giraffes snatch leaves from branches high above.

Today you have an opportunity to enjoy an optional hot air balloon safari, followed by breakfast and a full day game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Nowhere in Kenya is there more abundant wildlife than in the Masai Mara. Visitors have an excellent chance of spotting the Big Five as well as seeing cheetah, giraffe, hyena, hippo, and zebra.

After breakfast, transfer from your lodge to Keekorok airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, meet a representative and transfer to Giraffe Manor for an overnight.
Giraffe Manor is an exclusive boutique hotel, set in a peaceful suburb of Nairobi. The hotel is famous for its resident herd of Rothschild's giraffes, who visit morning and evening, poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat.
