This wonderful trip was filled with so many ‘magnificent moments’ from the onset and especially, when I had the very first glimpse of the sleek all-suite Silver Moon docked in port at Hong Kong Harbor from the window of my suite at the flagship Mandarin Oriental hotel
With a guest capacity of only 596, I felt very privileged to be granted the opportunity to set sail on this amazing cruise from Hong Kong to Singapore, and to be graciously co-hosted by Jennifer Tanaka of Silversea and Marni Becker of GTC.Rather than a chronological account, I will first start with a review of the SILVER MOON which was the main focus of this Educational Study Program and which was our luxurious ‘home at sea’ for 6 days.
SILVER MOON: Overview: After arriving to the Silver Moon in a convoy of Rolls Royce Phantom cars by generous courtesy of the PENINSULA HONG KONG, we were ushered into the main reception area where we were warmly greeted by staff who offered cool towels to refresh ourselves, followed by flutes of champagne presented on a silver tray.As I sipped the champagne and marveled at the beauty of the ship, looking at the thoughtfully placed artwork, the pleasant décor and stunning orchid arrangements, I thought again about our Rolls Royce arrival with the touch of ‘pomp and circumstance’ as the fleet of cars approached Hong Kong’s Ocean Terminal – and how it all now seemed so befitting, as the Silver Moon is indeed one of the most elegant and luxurious ships in the world!
