Instead of a Caribbean trip over Christmas (which one family recently requested), he advised that they would pay three times more over Christmas than they would waiting until January, so he instead recommended a Viking river cruise, where the family could visit Germany and Austria, explore the Christmas markets and drink Glühwein. The family was ecstatic. All their friends had taken the typical holiday to crowded Florida or Cancun, while they had explored two new countries they had never seen before on a far more reasonable budget. “This is what it means to ‘wow’ a client,” Tom said with a smile.
